"National Epilepsy Week: Spreading
Awareness, Dispelling Myths, Supporting Lives"
Published by LifeOnPlus | 3rd Week of May | National Epilepsy Week 2025
It’s a neurological condition that impacts over 10 million people in India
—and millions
more who support them, care for them, or are unaware of how to help. This
National
Epilepsy Week , LifeOnPlus is committed to raising awareness, breaking
stigma, and
building inclusive healthcare access for those living with epilepsy.
What is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy is a chronic disorder of the brain that causes recurrent seizures—sudden,
uncontrolled electrical disturbances. It can affect anyone, at any age.
But with timely diagnosis and treatment, 70% of epilepsy cases can be managed
effectively.
The Problem: Stigma & Silence
In many parts of India, epilepsy is still misunderstood. Myths, discrimination, and lack
of access to neurologists or diagnostic tools lead to delayed care or social isolation.
That must change.
How LifeOnPlus is Making a Difference

2. Discounted EEG, CT, and MRI scansthrough the LifeOnPlus
Smart Health Card

Know the Signs of a Seizure
Sudden confusion or
unresponsiveness
Jerking movements (especially of
arms and legs)
Loss of awareness, staring
spells
Strange sensations, smells, or
emotional changes
What to Do During a Seizure
Stay calm. Time the seizure.
Keep the person safe—remove nearby
objects.
Do NOT put anything in
their mouth.
After the seizure, help them rest
and recover.
Seek medical help if the seizure
lasts over 5 minutes or repeats.
